A floating single strand of old gold beads, perfectly round and deliciously plump, from the very end of the Victorian era, and the beginning of the Edwardian; circa 1900.
Each bead has been crafted in its entirety out of a blushy and peachy warm 14k; with each neatly following the next in design, as they have all been strung tautly on a length of tightly braided metal wire.
Both the wire, rendered nearly invisible by the beads themselves, and the barrel clasp, cleverly disguised and camouflaged at the termini as two connected beads, are sophisticatedly hidden from view.
A very refined example of a truly enduring design from the turn of the century: It sings solo, wrapped around the throat in a timeless & minimalist styling, or creates a killer base for an edgier layered, maximalist look.
This lovely choker necklace is in excellent antique condition, with some light surface wear commensurate with age. One or two minuscule dents to individual beads can be observed under magnification. The push tag is stamped "14k." It measures 14.5 inches, and weighs 17.5 grams.
