Vintage Amethyst Hinged Hollow Tube Bangle w/ Twisted Rope Accents in 14k Gold, Bracelet, Gem, Victorian, Bypass, 1900s, Etruscan, Edwardian

A classic vintage gold bangle, with the enduring slim and hollow tube construction which emerged in popularity from the end of the 19th century through the early 20th century.

Three flat-cut plummy, lavender purple amethysts with pinkish tinges have been set atop its face: Each adorned with ornate, openwork rectangular frames, and each placed symmetrically between a finely executed applied, twisting rope detail. 

A hidden, ridged push clasp and a tiny linked safety chain finish off the details of this oval, hinged 14k yellow gold bracelet. 

A sumptuous mix of textures, colors, and gorgeously saturated materials. 

Fascinatingly, towards the end of the Victorian era, the newness and novel nature of mass produced, machine-made jewels brought them into vogue in their own right; with several tastemakers and cultural commenters of the day declaring matching sets of these jewels as superior symbols of wealth and good taste over older, traditionally crafted pieces.

In excellent vintage condition. From the interior, it measures 2.2 inches by 1.95 inches. It weighs a hefty, heavy, gold forward 12.1 grams and measures 4.8mm in width.

Returns and exchanges are accepted within 3 days of delivery date. Item must be shipped within one week of my written confirmation of the return or exchange and its subsequent details. Return shipping must be insured and will be the buyer's responsibility. Items must be received in the same condition as sold/shipped. Any customs/tariffs/import fees/taxes incurred in the purchase are similarly the buyer's responsibility.
