Antique Georgian Carved Orange Coral Hand Cut Crosshatched Pineapple Charm in 14k Gold c. 1800, Pendant, Necklace, Teardrop, Fruit, Novelty

With sharp and ultra crisp hand-done crosshatching, this small deep orange coral Georgian pendant is a playful and figural early piece from the first quarter of the 19th century.

The teardrop shaped coral body, along with the top conical cap and well as the flowery, scalloped bottom,-- both of warmly hued 14k gold,-- have been modeled and designed to represent a pineapple: An exotic and newly introduced fruit from the Caribbean at the time which had also interestingly become a symbol of welcome, hospitality and festivity; no doubt indicating this little charm was given as a gift meaning to delight, impress and endear!

A very fun and historically fascinating charm that is scarce to find. Circa 1800-1820.

In excellent antique condition. It measures 21mm in height, including the fixed bale, and 10mm at its widest point. It weighs 2.5 grams.

Returns and exchanges are accepted within 3 days of delivery date. Item must be shipped within one week of my written confirmation of the return or exchange and its subsequent details.
