Antique Georgian Foiled Rose Cut Diamond Cluster Ring with Floral Engraved Verso in Silver and Gold c. 1790, Target, Flower, 1700's

A glittering, very fine diamond Georgian cluster ring featuring a chunky, large rose cut diamond center surrounded by a halo of smaller, irregular rose cuts. Either forked shoulder is also studded with two additional diamonds. The diamonds are set in silver, while the shank and the back of the closed back setting are modeled in gold. The verso of the bezel is decorated with a finely executed floral motif on a rayed background. The diamonds in this piece are wonderfully moody and grey, and have unmistakeable antique charm. They flicker and blink with each movement and change in light; originally crafted to best catch and mirror candlelight. Circa 1790. It is a size 5.5
