A supremely delightful Georgian era trilogy ring, circa 1790-1800, comprised of a central oval-cut pink topaz flanked by two natural turquoise cabochons. Placed in deeply cupped, closed back settings with pinched collets in 14k yellow gold, the three gem bezel leads into forked acanthus leaf shoulders and a delicately ribbed shank. The color scheme of the ring is gentle and sweet, with baby pink and blues that range from sea-foam green to robin's egg. Though the two plump turquoise cabochons have slight variations in color and shape, the ring is beautifully balanced; with each stone allowed to showcase its natural beauty. Interestingly, "pinked" topaz was extremely fashionable towards the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century thanks to the discovery of a Brazilian mine that produced a quantity of imperial topaz with a slight pink hue, as well as the discovery that certain golden topaz became pinked when heated. In impeccable, untouched antique condition. It is a size 5.75 and weighs 2 grams.
