Antique Spanish High Karat Rose Cut Diamond Cross Brooch Conversion in 22k Gold c. 1750, Colonial, 1700's, Iberian, Pendant

This sumptuous and extravagant mid 18th century Spanish jewel is a delicate openwork webbing of bright 22k gold, studded with 13 moody, grey diamonds set closed back. The angular lines radiating from the center of the pin, and surrounding the five largest, central rose cut diamonds, serve to create a cut out cross-shape; thereby reinforcing the jewel's devotional and religious nature. Each of these five central diamonds are framed by beads of granulation, with the middle largest also exhibiting a scalloped, pyramidal surround. These sharp-cornered geometric shapes give way to a termination of small engraved floral sprays, each bejeweled with a singular tiny, irregular diamond in rub-over settings. The reverse exhibits beautiful and fine engraving, embellishing the back of each individual foliate motif. The pin fitting to the back is a later addition, as this cross would have originally been a pendant drop in a larger piece. In immaculate condition. It measures 1 inch by both length and width, and measures 1.5 inches in diameter, point to point. It weighs 9.7 grams.

Returns and exchanges are accepted within 3 days of delivery date. Item must be shipped within one week of my written confirmation of the return or exchange and its subsequent details. Return shipping must be insured and will be the buyer's responsibility. Items must be received in the same condition as sold/shipped. Any customs/tariffs/import fees/taxes incurred in the purchase are similarly the buyer's responsibility.

Should the buyer fail to pick up the package or provide a correct address for its shipment and it is then subsequently returned to me, there will be a restocking fee of up to 10% to be deducted from the refund. If reshipment is desired, it is available at the buyer's cost.
