Antique Victorian Articulated Knight's Helmet Pendant in Silver c. 1880, Charm, Necklace, Novelty, 1800's, Armor, Weapon, Medieval

A large, hollow novelty silver knight's helmet pendant, circa 1880; originally fashioned as a fob. The visor is articulated, hinged at the temples, and can be moved up and down with ease. Both the helmet itself and the top feather flourish exhibit wonderfully realistic details--from the raised comb and notched barbs on the plumes, to the visor's ventilation grille, down to the neck guard, called a gorget. It is in excellent antique condition. The mechanical visor rests downwards, and the bottom of the piece is flat. It measures just shy of 1.25 inches in length, excluding the bale, and just shy of 3/4 of an inch in width at the widest points. Heavy, weighing in at 12.8 grams. Undoubtedly one of a kind.
