Fabulously feathered & insanely heavy this French Victorian eagle claw stick pin is a mini, wearable sculpture with its meticulous modeling of rich yellow 18k.
A plethora of interesting aspects on which to feast the eye: so much deep & crisp detail with its well shaped, ridged plumes; a variety of textures such as its thoughtful crinkly avian skin; all terminating in sharpened pointed talons!
The finest example of this 20th century motif. Circa 1900.
In excellent antique condition. It weighs an incredible 4 grams, while the pin itself measures 2.5 inches. The foot itself measures an approximate 23mm.
