Adore with us this darling Victorian confection of a ring! Modeled of nicely patinated old gold, glinting with its signature depth & warmth, the piece has been fashioned as a wide belt buckle with a vertical trio of bright pink fuchsia rubies.

Here, the sturdy and typically unembellished symbol of fidelity and romantic affection that was the trusty garter belt has been sweetly, humbly kissed by extra artistic flourishes: Intentionally adorned with a sensorially pleasing shock of richly saturated and substantially sized fuchsia colored gemstones, which have been artistically framed by the softly engraved and milgrained crescent of the top of the buckle itself; details which all in tandem create the most amorous overtones for an exceptional love token.

So cute! And unusual to find a bejeweled example of this popular 19th century sentimental motif.

The Order of the Garter, with its trademark stylized belt imagery gained popularity and favor when seen worn by prestigious members of the ranks of this oldest of British chivalrous order, influenced many of the decorative arts through out the Georgian and Victorian era. Their application can be found as the surround for brooches and as central design elements for rings and bracelets and pay homage to this organization.

Practically speaking, buckles were also prominently featured as a result of their functional as well as decorative role in jewelry design; and as a direct echo of the ornamentation founds on medals and awards given by this organization.

Measuring a size 6, and weighing at a pleasing 4.4g of solid 10k; it is in excellent, pre-loved condition. The shank is solid, very wearable and well made and bears the slight evidence of a prior resizing upon close inspection.
