Beatific Becker: there is much to praise about this gorgeous piece of art and devotion--a detailed, heavy & high karat religious medallion to top them all.
A serene & regal interpretation of The One True Primordial Mother, titled “Notre Dame de Paris”, (or “Our Lady of Paris,”) looks benevolently outwards from a fine face; almond eyes, a well formed & projected nose, and a crown upon her forehead in this large solid vintage medal pendant.
As an archetype of care and protection, she can represent any figure or force you associated with these energies and actions.
Signed to the front; engraved, monogrammed and dated 1967 to the reverse.
I love the chunky uneven edges of Henri Becker's medals and slight traces of fingerprint whorls; reminiscent of their conscientious handmade nature and a call back to the appearance of ancient old coins and chubby, small-batch ingots.
All in solid iconically buttery French 18k gold, and weighing in at hefty 10.3 grams. It's diameter measures in at 1 inch.
